RunMail Android 4.x Setup

These instructions/screen shots were created using a Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.2.2.

Phone Home Screen

  1. Start by tapping the Email icon on the home page or under Applications.

Set up email

  1. Enter your email address.
  2. Enter your email password.
  3. Tap the [Manual setup] button.

Add email account

  1. Tap the [POP3 account] button.

Incoming server settings

  1. Enter your email address for BOTH "Email address" and "User name" fields.
  2. Enter your email password.
  3. Enter mail.runspot.net.
  4. Select SSL.  The phone should automatically select port 995.
  5. This is your preferences but it is recommended that you select "When I delete from Inbox" for the "Delete email from server" field.
  6. Tap the [Next] button.

Outgoing server settings

  1.  Enter mail.runspot.net.
  2. Select SSL.  The phone should automatically select port 465.
  3. "Require sign-in" must be checked.
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Enter your email password.
  6. Tap the [Next] button.

Account Options

These default settings should be fine.  You can change them to suit your needs.  You might want to set the "Sync schedule" to happen every 30 minutes but every hour is usually the best option.

  1. "Sync Email" should be checked.

Set up email

  1. You can give your email any account name that you want.  It is recommended that you use your email address.
  2. Enter your full name for the "Your name" field.
  3. Tap the [Done] button to complete the email setup.
